		I think if he was as close as 4 feet away from you, there could be a much simpler explanations: your rifle was simply sticking through him and all the bullets went to the other side.
		Of course, at point blank range this can be expected as your gun really does go through the other players avatar, but as you said your rifle wasn't that close.
		It may well be (that the barrel was sticking through the target...) though I'm sure I was not that close (and it can be a pain to even bayo a prone target without trampoling off his body if you get too close).
