William H. Calvin, NYTimes review of Antonio R. Damasio's The Feeling of What Happens (1999)
"Extended consciousness has to do with making the organism aware of the largest possible compass of knowledge, while intelligence pertains to the ability to manipulate knowledge so successfully that novel responses can be planned and delivered." [p.198] However, Damasio generally chooses not to complicate his extended consciousness story with all that language adds.
Damasio’s consciousness genesis even has the "begats": "The nonconscious neural signaling of an individual organism begets the proto-self which permits core self and core consciousness, which allow for an autobiographical self, which permits extended consciousness.
Nor is the story really told by you as a self because the core you is only born as the story is told, within the story itself.

 TAKE ONE: Hard core logo
McDonald says Hard Core Logo is "a bit of a dance between the logic of documentary and narrative." The conventions of documentary are used by McDonald and the actors to tell a story of remarkable complexity and texture about the dissolution of a punk rock band.
When McDonald was given Michael Turner's 1993 collection of poems about a fictional rock band, Hard Core Logo, he was attracted less by its reflection of the 1970s politicized Vancouver punk scene of bands like DOA, Art Bergman or the Modernettes, and more by the story of growing up and growing apart.
Hard Core Logo's touring anthem is a catchy, passionate, tongue-in-cheek number, "Who the hell do you think you are?" and the Ramones' "Touring" is the film's theme song.

 The book Hard Core Logo
The style in which Hard Core Logo is written creates a realistic snapshot of daily life by taking journal entries and other writings and turning them into a story that has anything but a narrative structure.
Although the basis for both the book and film genres is similar, McDonald uses the characteristics of film to change Turner’s story, making it original and successful as a feature length film.
Both genres succeed in pulling the audience into the story, describing what punk music and life in a band is all about.

And, although core consciousness is stable, the "core self" it generates continually morphs from one moment to the next as a mapped response to encountered stimuli.
The autobiographical self depends on systematized memories of situations in which core consciousness was involved in the knowing of the most invariant characteristics of an organism's life--who you were born to, where, when, your likes and dislikes, the way you usually react to a problem or a conflict, your name, and so on.

 Monolith Septerra Core Reviews
The creators of Septerra Core did a fantastic job of creating a fantasy world to get lost in - every part of it is explained, from war history between the shells to ancient myths and gods of Septerra's denizens.
It's a shame becuase Septerra Core has some intersting NPCs and has a story that is so perfect that it bothers me to see it marred by it's combat system.
Of course, if Septerra Core chose to have thier game in realtime, I would have hoped that they made thier gameplay similiar to Summoner, BG 2, or even Tales of Destiny 2.

Moral example is trust in the moral core of another, a role model, without the obvious mediation of any theory or language.
Since the lives of moral exemplars are not inspectable by people in the present, storytelling takes a central role in any culture built on moral example - leading to the idea of a 'moral of a story'.
It is also true that since the exact circumstances and decisions of the lives of such moral examples cannot be reproduced or repeated, followers are often reduced to following their etiquette and customs, e.g.

Twin Ice Cores From Greenland Reveal History of Climate Change, More
In short, the ice cores tell a clear story: humans came of age agriculturally and industrially during the most stable climatic regime recorded in the cores.
Initial interpretation of the ice cores indicated that the large, rapid climate oscillations that dominate the record of the last 110,000 years also persisted through the previous warm period, the Eemian, which took place about 120,000–130,000 years ago.
The use of volcanic markers (such as dust and certain gases) and atmospheric-oxygen isotope ratios to determine the ages of ice cores and ocean records greatly extends scientists' ability to map climate changes and understand their causes.

Everything from the characters and objects to the machinery in Septerra Core are drawn with a very stylistic look; the women and men in the game have the bizarre hair colors and unique clothing that one would expect from an anime series.
Admittedly, the game revolves around a typical "godlike being having created a world" scenario (this world is called Septerra and its creator is called The Creator) and begins with a usual "gift-of-heaven bestowed upon lucky souls" getup, but it quickly evolves into a deeper and more entertaining story.
However, one need only look at more traditional games like Ultima Ascension alongside a game like Septerra Core to see that there is room for both in a gamer's library.

Mores - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
However, constant exposure to social mores is thought by some to lead to development of an individual moral core, which is pre-rational and consists of a set of inhibitions that cannot be easily characterized except as potential inhibitions against taking opportunities that the family or society does not consider desirable.
The English word morality comes from the same root, as does the noun moral, which can mean the 'core meaning of a story'.
These in turn cannot be easily separated from individual opinions or fears of getting caught.

Nowadays memory elements are fabricated on semiconductor chips, but the active part of the memory system where a program is kept while it is being executed, is still often referred to as core memory, or simply core.
The memory array differs from most computer memories in its circular configuration; it is a sequence of addresses numbered from 0 to 7999 but it thereupon rejoins itself, so that address 8000 is equivalent to address 0.
