Maculele (dance) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maculelê (Pronounced: mah-koo-leh-LEH) is a dance from Brazil where a number of people gather in a circle called a roda with one or more atabaques positioned at the entrance of the circle.
As the Maculelê rhythm plays on the atabaque, the people in the circle begin rhythmically striking the sticks together.
When the leader gives the signal to begin playing Maculelê, two people enter the circle, and to the rhythm of the atabaque, they begin striking their own and each other's sticks together.

The Atabaque is a tall standing drum similar to a conga made of long strips of wood joined side by side to each other, and covered at the end by animal skin that is tied on with rope.
The low tone is made by hitting the skin near the rim like with the pandeiro, but you hit it with the base of your fingers instead of the thumb or finger tips, and you use both hands.
The atabaque is used in Capoeira, Samba de Roda, Maculêlê (Brazilian folk dance with sticks or cane knives/machetes, which in modern times is practised by many Capoeira schools), and religious ceremonies of Candomblé; and Macumba.

Do you guys know what are the rythms of the pandeiro and atabaque used for the Miudinho Rythm/Game.
I know how to play the miudinho rythm on the berimbau, but I don't know how to play it on the pandeiro and atabaque, I know that it differs from the traditional rythms used in the other rythms (Sao Bento Grande, Benguela, Amazonas...).
By the way, the basic atabaque rythm for miudinho has the same hitting times than sao bento grande de angola (4 hits: 3 outside and one inside) but in miudinho we will hit 2 times inside and 2 times outside.

The musical ensemble employed in contemporary capoeira features one to three berimbaus, an atabaque (conical hand drum), a pandeiro (tambourine) and an agogô (double bell).
Where multiple berimbaus are employed in an ensemble, they are often tuned to separate pitches.
