 Charlottesville Classical Guitar Society
was born in Greece and studied the guitar at the National Conservatory in Athens, the Conservatoire National Superieure in Paris, and finally, with support from the British Council and the Hellenic Foundation, at the Guildhall School of Music in London.
The concert is presented by the Charlottesville Classical Guitar Society, founded in 1993, a non-profit, educational organization whose purpose is to foster interest in the Classical Guitar.
In 1989 Eleftheria’s first recording “The Blue Guitar”, featuring the premiere recording of Sir Michael Tippett’s Sonata achieved world wide critical acclaim and was selected by Gramophone magazine as a “Critic’s Choice Recording of the Year”.

This fall marks the first extended North American tour of the Jacques Loussier Trio, which is releasing its latest recording on the Telarc label, Baroque Favorites, the week before the ensemble’s Athens engagement.
When Loussier was just 16, he was admitted to the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique in Paris.
Loussier feels his new trio has far more stylistic range than its predecessor; whereas the first was a pioneer group, the latterday trio combines jazz, rock and contemporary classical ideas with the mix of jazz and Bach.
