 | | Ephraim Cutler, known in the early history of Athens county as Judge Cutler, was the oldest son of Dr. Manasseh Cutler, and was born at Edgartown, Duke's county; Massachusetts, April 12th, 1767. |
 | | He held various civil positions in the township and county, and, in connection with the early militia organization of the county, was commissioned, by Governor Ethan A. Brown, ensign in 1819; lieutenant in 1820; captain in 1821; by Governor 'Trimble, lieutenant colonel in 1822, and by Governor Morrow, colonel in 1823. |
