Due to the maximum term of imprisonment provided by Pennsylvania law for the offense to which Dieffenbach pleaded guilty, any term of imprisonment ordered by the sentencing court must be served in the Bradford County Correctional Facility.
Garry W. Hizer, 56, of 121 Fiscus Lane, Jeannette, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for a minimum term of six months and a maximum term of 18 months, and a fine of $1,500, for the offense of driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
Officer Denny Salter of the Sayre Borough Police Department charged Phillips with the offense in November 2004 following investigation of reported thefts from motor vehicles in Athens Township and Sayre Borough.

 History of Bradford County PA
Nicholas, is a son of Jacob Van Woert, born May 6, 1799; he removed from Athens, Greene Co. NY in 1838, locating in the county and Athens township.
[Note: Athens, Bradford County PA is immediately south of Tioga County NY.]
In 1841 or '42, he purchased a farm on 'Shutliff Hill," where he made his subsequent home; he died during a short absence at Wilawana, February 15, 1866; his family consisted of six children, all of whom grew to maturity.

SGL 38 and the Bethlehem Water property have large acorn crops." Bradford County WCO Carl Szymanski said, "SGL 12, SGL 36 and Tioga State Forest in Armenia Township are hot spots for bear hunting." Bradford County WCO Matt Grebeck said, "The hot spots are in Ridgebury, Athens and Sheshequin townships.
Apparently they're thriving in Westfall Township given the unusually high number of bear complaints from Westfall residents." Monroe County WCO Pete Sussenbach said, "SGL 127 has a large beechnut crop this year that ought to keep bears active through hunting season.
The premiere of Pennsylvania's extended six-day bear season in Carbon, Monroe and Pike counties, which ran concurrently with the first week of the firearms deer season, is believed to have prompted the increase in bear license sales.

Silas applied for a military pension 22 April 1818: "Silas Wolcut of the township of Athens in the County of Bradford...after being duly sworn according to Law doth and did declare and say that he was born the fourth day of August 1755 in the State of New Hampshire".
He was probably living near Litchfield, Bradford Co. PA during 1802-7 when 3 of his children married members of the Park family of Litchfield Township who had settled there on the north branch of the river in 1788.

It is bounded on the north by Tioga county, New York, on the east by the township of Windham, on the south by Rome and Sheshequin, and on the west by Athens.

John Watkins Barnum was born in Athens Township, Bradford County,Pennsylvania and lived there until 1850.
On 5 Dec 1862, John W. enlisted, at Durand, Wisconsin, in Company G,25th Wisconsin Infantry.
If so, the whole family went...they did a big loop, as most/allof the sons lived in Wisconsin in the 1860s.
