	The Truth Behind StarGate: A
		Athos’ monastic community founded in 963 AD (by a monk named Athanasios the Athonite), with the establishment of the Great Lavra monastery (still the most prominent and largest).
		The monasteries of Athos were protected by the Byzantine Emperors until their 15th century collapse and the occupation of Islamic Ottoman Empire.
		It is my theory that the Wraiths did not attack Athos because some of the SGA team went into the ancestors’ city, but because Sheppard had activated Teyla’s necklace, which he had found in the cave.

		If people suspect that a culling is about to begin, the Wraith will dial the Stargate of the planet they are culling in order to prevent escape, much in the same way that the Goa'uld dial in to prevent the escape of the population from a planet they are trying to conquer.
		Fan forum speculation is that the beam either acts as a "tag" to signal to other Wraith that the population on the planet has already been culled, or that this beam connects to a device into which darts remolecularize their captured humans, which then sends them up to the hive ship.

		Goof: During the battle between the Puddlejumper and the Wraith Darts around the Stargate in orbit of the planet, the wall of the Puddlejumper behind Major Shephard keeps changing between shots from a blank wall to having a white box with the SGA mission patch on it.
		However, the 55 killed by the Stargate shield (a company of 60 with only 5 survivors) plus the 5 killed by Sheppard in Atlantis makes exactly 60, not over, unless Kolya was counting Sora's father from the mission in "Underground", but that would seem unlikely.
