The good, bad, and the ugly of using transit in metro Atlanta.
While MARTA could likewise throw away trip history as soon as it isn't needed for fare calculation, if they do keep it, it would likely be subject to the open records requests.

The jury yesterday ruled that Mayflower broke its contract with Angie Chen when she moved from Atlanta to Chicago, and it awarded her 30-thousand dollars.
She accused the company of federal racketeering charges based on fraud and extortion.
