Atlantic Baptist University is a small Liberal Arts university located in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
The school was founded in 1949 under the name United Baptist Bible Training School (UBBTS), and served as both a secondary school and a Bible school.
The name was also changed to Atlantic Baptist University, a reflection of expanded student enrollment and academic accreditation.

The funding is a one-time contribution towards the capital debt incurred by ABU during the construction of the university's Gorge Road campus in the mid-1990s.
ABU is funded primarily through tuition and money raised throughout the region, mostly through Baptist churches, and does not receive regular funding from the government for education or programs.
ABU president Brian MacArthur says the grant is confirmation that the university is just as important as the province's public institutions.

 Palm Beach Atlantic University loosens Baptist ties
WEST PALM BEACH (FBW) - Southern Baptists are no longer required to enjoy majority status on the Board of Trustees of Palm Beach Atlantic University and within the faculty ranks of the School of Ministry after a lop-sided super-majority of the Board approved amendments to the school's by-laws Nov. 21.
Remaining in place at the school with historic Baptist ties are by-law stipulations that require the offices of president, vice president of religious life and dean of the School of Ministry be held by Southern Baptists.
A life-long Southern Baptist pastor before joining the PBA's administration in 1998 as vice president of religious life and dean of the School of Ministry, Mahanes previously served on the board of a Baptist college but resigned "as a matter of conscience" because of the school's liberal drift.

Brent took a year of Arts at Atlantic Baptist College (now Atlantic Baptist University) and then took a few years off from school and worked as a carpenter's apprentice for his Uncle in Fredericton.
He went back to school in 1986 at Atlantic Baptist College to finish his B.A. in Biblical Studies.
In 1989, Brent and Lise moved from Moncton to pastor a small Baptist church in Hillgrove, NB -- a rural community not far from Moncton.

The event included a three night stay at 4 star hotel, a two day case competition, breakfast and lunch for the two days, a formal awards ceremony inclusive of dinner, a key note speaker, loads of gifts, and a special award for the winning team.
Of these teams, Atlantic Baptist University came out on top, and the team won a $2000 cash prize along with a trophy.

Palm Beach Atlantic (22-1 overall), an NCAA Division II school, also defeated Alliant International (6-17 overall), 30-18, 30-21, 30-18, in the midday match.
Palm Beach Atlantic got no closer than two points at 29-27, and Bonilla ended the match with a kill on the next play.
