The Atlantic Sun Conference is based out of Macon, Ga. The awards for the conference All-Academic team are awarded to students who maintain a 3.0 or better grade point average during the season of competition.
The A-Sun record was held by former Camel Heather Lee who ran 17:00 at the 2001 A-Sun Championships in Atlanta, Ga.; Lee was also the course record holder when she ran 17:22 to win the 2003 A-Sun Championships.
Valtin was an Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team member last season for Cross Country, she competed in neither cross country nor indoor track because of an injury and was granted a red-shirt.

The farthest north FGCU would have to travel for a conference game in the Atlantic Sun would be Nashville, Tenn., where both Belmont and Lipscomb are located.
Once the Atlantic Sun receives FGCU's petition for membership and determines it wants to consider the school for membership, Bibb said the conference would send a small committee to take a two-day tour of the school.
