A Chat With John Nephew of Atlas Games | Gamegrene.com
I had already been freelancing in the games industry since 1986, working with TSR (writing and editing D&D and AD&D books, mainly) and with Lion Rampant (wearing many hats over the course of a couple of years, including President).
Since starting Atlas I've done a lot less writing of my own, but I've been lucky enough to find folks who are much better writers and designers than I am, and to make a living bringing their work to gamers.
But like other booms in the game industry, it was followed by a bust.

Rune News: Atlas Games' Rune RPG
Atlas creates rules for each title based on the game genre and type of player interaction needed, rather than recycling or extending a “house rules” system.
According to Atlas Games President John Nephew, the Rune RPG rules are based loosely on the rules of the popular Atlas title Ars Magica, but “Rune is quite different because it focuses on the Norse and their mythology.
During our interview, the Atlas crew couldn’t say enough good things about Robin, John flatly stating, “We selected Robin because he's the best freelance RPG writer active in the game industry.…he's very good adopting a particular attitude and keeping a consistent voice for the things that he writes.

Edutainment games, which have been becoming popular in Europe, could be helpful in achieving the good goal of preserving and widening the access to the written cultural heritage.
The existing historical, psychological, and anthropological studies on games, and even mathematical 'game theory' are limited because of their narrow focus on specific parts of the puzzle we call 'game'.
There are different definitions of what a game is, but here we use one that is fairly suitable for the scope of this article: 'game is a form of computer art in which participants(players), put up with specific rules, make decisions in the pursuit of a goal.

Repeated games with probabilistic horizon are defined as those games where players have a common structure of probability over the length of their repetition.
Moreover, finite stage games with probabilistic horizon unify the analysis for finitely repeated games, infinitely repeated games with discount factor and infinitely repeated games with limit average payoffs.
For differentiable games we reinterpret the Bernheim and Dasgupta's results and we classify the games according to both the (first order) convergence speed of the original probability distribution and the second order convergence speed of its logarithm.
