Atsushi Onita had never been the greatest wrestler after his first retirement, but for the first time since starting FMW, age and ring rust had caused him for the first time to not be able to carry his own in a Street Fight environment style match that he was known for.
Onita who had already had an Exploding Barbwire Death Match a year earlier, wanted to begin running at the huge stadium, as he had to have a place that the crowd could be so far from the ring itself for safety reasons, due to the Explosions that would be used in the matches.

Atsushi Onita (大仁ç"° 厚 Ōnita Atsushi) is a Japanese professional wrestler and a wrestling legend, who is best known for his work in FMW.
Onita and Guerrero's subsequent feud over the title spanned three promotions (AJPW, Jim Crockett Promotions and Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre), and, while not as spectacular as New Japan Pro Wrestling's junior division, provided solid alternate wrestling to AJPW fans.
After a sabbatical, Onita returned to the ring in 1997 as the leader of -like stable ZEN, by which he attempted to return FMW to its old death match ideology.

After Onita decided to retire, he sold the company to Arai on April 30, 1995 which would also be the press conference that Hayabusa appeared and challenged Atsushi Onita for the 5/5/95 match and Arai officially became FMW owner and President and would push Hayabusa and Megumi Kudo as the main stars of the promotion.
Atsushi Onita at a Press Conference finally announced what would be the main event for the WEW 5/5 Kawasaki Stadium show in place of Kodo Fuyuki who is still in hospital after a successful but longer than expected surgery back on April 18th.
Atsushi Onita announced that he would he would be the one who would revive FMW with his own money and would run FMW's return show on March 30th in Osaka.

Onita would turn it into an angle by announcing that somebody had stolen his passport during the attack, to force him stranded on the island, and not be allowed to leave, so that he could be attacked again.
Onita would begin running his one year long retirement tour, a way for every house show to be built as the last time of getting to see Atsushi Onita wrestle in their building.
Onita may have been beloved by fans, and women, but many wrestlers were becoming tired of Onita's ways of business, as well as his ego, but knew better not to say anything in fear of their jobs, since it was Onita who was making all the money, and was the boss.

Atsushi Onita would get wrestling magazine writers Wally Yamaguchi and Mickey Ibargi to help him promote his FMW show on October 6, 1989 in Nagoya.
Onita rushes Ayoyagi before the bell and gets into it with his seconds, setting the tone of this when the bell rings and Aoyagi regains his composure.
