Armchair DJ: Music Review: Massive Attack v. Mad Professor: No Protection Massive Attack's 1994 "Protection" album was a bit too slick for its own good. Nellee Hooper's artful production produced a couple of killer singles, but as a whole the album lacked the gritty beauty of its predecessor, the seminal "Blue Lines." When this dub reworking of "Protection" came out in the UK a few months after the original, many saw it as a correction of the album's flaws.
