During this first visit to Attapeu, Dr. Bounthong Bouahom also visited the MWBP Provincial Project Office (PPO), and meet with directorates of the Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Office and villagers of the two target villages.
Attapeu is one of the poorest provinces in Laos with poor nutrition, lack of access to safe drinking water and inadequate medical services being major factors in people’s poverty.
This method was used because often villagers do not always believe what their own villagers report back to them, but when a group of people consisting of four different village people report back, there is more trust and belief in what is being said.

Not a lot seems to happen in the town, although it was quite fun being 2 out of only 4 tourists and being dragged into more New Year celebrations, generally by people who are young to be drinking, even by UK standards!
Sekong to Attapeu was a bit of a trek.
Attapeu was a nice place; small but quite spread out.

I saw about five to six men this morning sitting in the shade of a telephone pole.
This morning I was able to get rid of a lot of the mucus, and almost immediately my throat felt better.
Stupidly, I decided to continue on to Attapeu today instead of resting for a day in Sekong, simply because there is exactly nothing to do (besides the motorcycle stunt show) in Sekong.
