Atteridgeville, part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, is a township located on the west of Pretoria, South Africa.
It was established in 1939 for fls by the apartheid government but development was frozen between 1968 and 1978 in accordance with the government's policy that housing provided for fls be limited to the homelands.
Atteridgeville Mutilator, killed boys during a five-month period in 1956, still unidentified.

Speaking at the official opening of the Atteridgeville Multi Purpose Community Centre, west of Pretoria, of Friday, Cachalia urged the community to demand respect and efficient service from public servants.

In partnership with ASRO, the civic organisation representing the township of Atteridgeville-Saulsville in Gauteng Province, South Africa, the HSRC is sponsoring the Legae la Kitso (Home of Information) project which involves the establishment of a community information resource centre in Atteridgeville.
The project is owned by the community and enables unfettered access to information relevant to survival and for community-building.
Because of the high degree of community participation, the implementing partner is the civic organisation and each of the three community information resource centres has a steering committee with members from the local community, the vested interest of the people in the project promotes momentum and sustainability.

Gauteng Housing MEC Paul Mashatile has instituted a probe into allegations of corruption involving the distribution of low-cost houses in the Brazzaville settlement in Atteridgeville, west of Tshwane.
The investigation was instituted the day after Atteridgeville residents made the allegations of corruption in the allocation of low-cost houses at a public meeting held in the township, as part of the Gauteng Executive Council's "Let's Talk" campaign on 25 July.
The MEC for Housing announced that the provincial government had approved a project at Tshwane's Lotus Gardens which would see the construction of 4 800 housing units at an estimated cost of R88 million.

A NEW R103m shopping centre called Attlyn is being developed in Atteridgeville, Tshwane, by Safari Investments.
The centre is located in an area known as Kalafong Heights with two main access points from Khosa Street, the link road between Maunde and Church streets, which are the two main arteries from Pretoria’s central business district to Atteridgeville.
