 Canconrox - Klaatu
The band landed a deal with Capitol Records an American deal in the summer of '75, shortly after Daffodil went bankrupt - on the eve of "True Life Hero" being released as a single, a feat all its own considering their unwillingness to tour or be photographed.
By the time they were ready to begin recording their next album, a shift in musical trends was evident.
The group entered Long's Toronto recording studio in late 1980 after negotiating a new contract with Capitol Canada, on the conditions they toured to support the album and lost the shtick of anonymity.

Activity quickened, however; involvement in projects to microfilm records, and the seeking of records to add to those already preserved at the University of Western Ontario, were just two of the activities of a revitalized committee, with Rosemarie McMechan as clerk.
The first deposits in the vault were the records from the University of Western Ontario, which arrived in a van driven by Edward Phelps even as the metal shelving was being installed in December 1982.
In some cases, custodians felt that the records were personal property: some records of defunct Meetings have been lost by storage over decades in a drawer or attic.

Their first album on Attic received little attention in Canada, but journalist David Farrell sent a copy to deejay Joe ("The Godfather Of Rock And Roll") Anthony in San Antonio, Texas, who was so impressed that he helped to get the band a small tour of San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Austin.
Thus began the nightmare of label entanglements that marks Triumph's history - all the albums that were released on Attic in Canada were also released on RCA in the rest of the world, and then when the Attic deal ended, RCA re-released all the albums in Canada as well.
The second album in Canada, Rock And Roll Machine, was actually the first US release on RCA (1978) and was released a year after the Canadian Attic release (1977).

Rock and Roll Machine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rock and Roll Machine was the second album by Canadian rock band Triumph, released in 1977 (see 1977 in music).
The album was released on RCA Records in the USA in 1978.
The album was originally released only in Canada but when the band signed an international deal with MCA Records in 1977, the international edition of the album was re-sequenced to include some of the tracks from their self-titled Triumph album of 1976.

CANOE -- JAM! Music - Pop Encyclopedia - Killer Dwarfs
The band demoed material with Chris Tsangeriadis, but after a falling out between Attic Records and the producer on an Anvil project, the Killer Dwarfs' self-titled debut was produced by relative unknown Doug Hill in 1983.
The resulting album, 'Stand Tall', was recorded at Comfort Sound in Toronto between October 1985 and April 1986 for a cost of $6000.
All the attention brought Epic Records to their door and when it came time to sign their contract, management made the negotiation process one of the longest in music industry history -- over 180 changes were made to the band's contract before they agreed to sign in 1988.

We did do some of the recording in Rochester; I think “A Child is Born,” “I Want to be There,” and perhaps one other song.
The occasion to do this album coincided with my having moved to Canada, and some of the songs were really an indication of a change that was happening for me at that point, somewhat of disillusionment with the New York scene at the time.
And some of the songs refer to finding a new way of looking at life - a yoga of the absolute, if you will - that we were starting to learn.

Their self-titled debut, which was poorly recorded, distributed and released by InterGlobe Music, failed to stir any attention and the record company soon folded.
Their third album, and second for Attic, was a repeat of their patented 2 minute George Thorogood-On-Speed vendettas called 'Some Kinda Fun' which extended the plethora of puking and passing out tunes such as "Let's Go To Fucking Hawaii" and "Teenage Beer Drinking Party".
Frankie Venom was living the subject matter of all his songs and was quickly replaced by Dave "Rave" Desroches (The Shakers), an old friend from Hamilton who had been called into duty at many stages during the band's career.

In January 2004, Light In The Attic, along with liner notes contributor Kevin Howes, flew to Toronto to meet the man! And now on May 11th, thirty four years later, the Sounds Of Joy is back, still sounding as fresh and powerful as it did in 1970.
