Attitude is the latest product exploding from this new south era, and his city of birth from Birmingham, Alabama.
It's not a gangsta album." As evidenced by the positions of Nelly, Ludacris and Nappy Roots on the Billboard charts, folks are obviously going to love the smoothed out, rhythmic country sounds of the New South.

Despite the wild streak the album has, this is first and foremost a dance album, and Alex Gifford and Will White, the two who make up The Propellerheads, provide solid beats which can be unspectacular at times.
The album is very well-rounded, containing slower songs and faster songs, all of which capably capture strong emotions through concise, pointed lyrics and memorable melodies.
One runs the risk of overlooking a genuinely good album, focusing instead on the fact that Far is so straightforward and earnest that the band seems peculiar in the generic, copycat world of guitar rock.

The surprise on this album is that Barney actually sings (and I don’t mean he has spoken word passages), but as this only lasts for about 10 seconds it’s not that remarkable.
This album recaptures the feel of that album and loses nothing in the delivery, however I fear that the band may no longer strive to push their sound forward having found a safe niche.

The album did have a couple of international hits (Meat Loaf was ignored Stateside from Bat I to Bat II, sadly) that put Meat Loaf back on the map commercially.
The production of 'Bad Attitude' is also a huge step up from Dead Ringer and Midnight at the Lost and Found, with a big, ballsy sound that almost recalls the epicness of 'Bat out of Hell' at it's best moments, giving Meat Loaf plenty of room to showboat with his voice.
This album is remarkably consistent, considering that less than a year prior, Meat Loaf put out 'Midnight...' which was, by all aspects, quite a horrible record.

His 80's albums were ultimatley commercial failures in the States (even though he still enjoyed modest success internationally and remained a huge concert draw), and were spotty in terms of artistic success.
He was headed for a comeback with the excellent Bad Attitude album but the death of his drummer at the beginning of his '84 tour ultimatley halted that.
Not to say there's not more highlights on this album, there is, such as the driving, out-and-out 80's rock of the title track (Where Meat Loaf laughably tries to re-assert his 'hipness' with an MTV reference), and the album's lone hit (internationally), Rock and Roll Mercenaries.

slayersaves.com - Slayer Undisputed Attitude Reviews
The combination of metal's technicality and hardcore punk's flat out aggressiveness and speed are the seeds that Slayer's breakneck sound originally grew out of, and Undisputed Attitude, while not perfect, is a fitting tribute to the bands that inspired Slayer to break from the traditional metal mold.
While the original material doesn't compete with the revolutionary and epic proportions of an album like Reign in Blood or South of Heaven, the songs seem to stay in form with the theme of the album.
Undisputed Attitude does not serve as a historical review of hardcore and punk of the '80s, and some might argue that the many important punk bands missing from this collection of songs diminish its value.

Quite frankly this is more like a compilation album than a live album and without the cheers between songs and the occasional incomprehensible statement from John Tardy it would be easy to forget the fact that it is a live recording.

The new album leaves the pop rock music that has been rotating around the pop charts behind.
The first single, "When It All Goes Wrong Again," starts off the album and is followed by the second single, "Slide." Both rockers in their own right.
This is made most evident in the album's spectular closer, "Song for an American Movie Part 2." Learning How to Smile opened with a brief but pretty "Song for an American Movie Part 1," but it seemed like more of an intro track than anything else.
