Auckland Grammar school is considering going to court after it was ordered to take back 20 students it ejected for breaching enrolment rules.

A recent article in the Metro magazine did not identify Macleans College as one of the top academic schools in Auckland due to the use of inaccurate NCEA pass rates.
In CIE 36% of the school’s A Level results were given an A grade and Macleans College won six Top of the World places in Cambridge.
The school has contacted Metro and they have replied and confirmed that the information that they used “in the school weighting criteria was flawed in respect of assessing Cambridge schools”, and that the calculation for university entrance “is not a perfect system” and “an element of unreliability might occur”.

Established in 2006, the Brain Bee Challenge is coordinated in New Zealand by the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at The University of Auckland.
In 2007, Auckland students were placed second and third in the final of this Australasia-wide competition.
