Propably the audio is encoded in mp3 which you can decode but the video is in divx.
When opening the file in Virtualdub and going to file information it displays under audio Compression: Unknown (tag 2000), this means as I have found out that the audion is in AC3 format.
Now the solution to this I have read is you need to get the file iviaudio.ax (AC3 codec) pop it into your windows/system directory and register it or an easier way would be to install the Nimo 5.0 codec pack, I have done both and still cant get any sound.
