007 : James Bond set Volume 3 DVD REVIEW (R1)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-12)
But, on both DVD's, NTSC and more severly in PAL because of the greater need for capacity and thus compression to bring all the information onto the dual layer disc, the detail is significantly reduced.
The polish the audio received was merely superficial but does for the most part not go deep enough - or to be more precise - the producers simply when not back to the original tracks.
The DVD edition features a transfer (aspect ratio 2.37:1) which is in essence is well done but again as the other Bonds suffers from lack of detail and resolution.

 Best DVD Audio Commentary
Commentary #1 is moderated by John Cork of the Ian Fleming foundation and, as we've now come to expect from these Bond films, consists of the usual assortment of nonsequitor interview snippets from numerous people associated with the film (most notably, director Guy Hamilton and actor Yaphet Kotto).
And his commentary is actually a little edgy insofar as this was one of his first directing jobs and he had a lot of people who didn't believe in him and what he was doing (particularly producer Michael Eisner, who eventually asked that his name be removed from the project).
Commentary #1 by actor Kevin Spacey, commentary #2 by director George Huang, and commentary #3 by director George Huang and actor Frank Whaley.

Superior image and audio quality, as well as the film being presented in its proper aspect ratio, are just some of the reasons for switching from videotape to DVD.
To many film buffs, the added benefit of DVDs are the supplemental materials — deleted scenes, alternate endings, documentaries and, of course, audio commentaries wherein the filmmaker talks about the making of the film.

As a fan I had been looking forward to the DVDs for Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers and Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland with the excitement of a virgin on prom night, but as a webmaster in 2002 I got the rare chance to participate in their production.
A commentary was also on the cards and early on, and only Michael was a confirmed participant.
I made some enquiries about the menu screens and stuff planned for the DVDs and was fortunate to tour the Crest facilities (I didn't mention I already made my own informal tour when I got lost looking for the bathroom - awesome place for movie fans).

StereoTimes -- Commentary: DVD Forum Finalizes the DVD-Audio Format
The sonic improvements are possible as a result of two factors: the DVD disc capacity, which is nearly seven times that of compact discs, and advances in sound recording technology since the introduction of the CD in 1982.
This transmits very high quality audio signals within a limited transfer rate without any loss of the original musical information, to allow over 74 minutes of multi-channel audio playback off a single-sided, single-layer 5-inch disc.
The ISC stated: "The DVD Forum's approval of Version 1.0 will facilitate development and adoption of the copyright protection technology that is vital in the modern digital era; the rollout of DVD-Audio products is near, and it will be a milestone for consumers to enjoy a totally new music listening experience."

MLP represents the ultimate in high-fidelity audio compression because it is the only compression format supported by DVD-Audio that allows every bit of the original recording to be reproduced accurately and completely.

will Jim Henson's works ever have DVD audio commentary? - Muppet Central Forum
While the Muppet Morsels are just as good as commentary (yet it's a shame that feature wasn't included in the Muppet movie DVDs), The Muppet Show: Season One could have at least had commentary on a few noteworthy episodes, such as the ones with Juliet Prowse, Rita Moreno, Paul Williams, and Valerie Harper.
The Sesame Street: Old School set could have had commentary on at least the first and third season premiers (I think the thrid premier is very noteworthy as it featured the debuts of Maria, Luis, David, and Mr.
And the two Fraggle Rock season sets have interviews that I think could count as commentary (in the first season set, they have sessions devoted to specific episodes, and in the second season set, they have a session devoted to Traveling Matt segments).

You put the audio tracks next to each other, add a volume envelope to each track, and then just vary them up and down as needed.
Frankly, I find mixed audio commentaries more annoying than solo ones because they often aren't mixed too well.
You also often find that commentary tracks that are mixed like this are done this way because they have long gaps where the people doing the commentary simply had nothing interesting to say.

 Renegade Commentaries
What this site is about is trying to share our views, opinion and mad ranting on some of our favourite (and least favourite) movies with the added bonus of our unique sense of humour.
The format we have chosen to do this in, since we are big fans of movies and DVD's, is alternate DVD audio commentaries where we can regale the listening public with screen specific hilarity (or just wander of the point completely).
The commentaries have the emphasis placed firmly on humour, but there is some good information and views on some at least!
