While he was in radio, he wrote for Orson Welles' "Mercury Theatre on the Air," "The Lives of Harry Lime" (a program in which Welles portrayed the character he played in "The Third Man"), and numerous other shows.

It is set against the backdrop of a great temporal war- the War in Heaven- where the Great Houses (an ancient humanoid- but not human- race) wage an ongoing war against an unnamed enemy- where all of History is the battleground.
To say that it is a Doctor Who spin-off is not accurate (the series does not claim to be a spin-off and, while the Faction Paradox first appeared in the Doctor Who range of novels from BBC, is property of Lawrence Miles and has separated itself from Doctor Who).
I will be doing reviews of the audio dramas, called the Faction Paradox Protocols, in the upcoming weeks, as well as the novels.
