Augsburg Fortress | One Mission Blog
When I speak to groups or individuals throughout the church, I often talk about Augsburg Fortress as “the ministry of publishing within the ELCA and for the larger Christian community.” We are a business, but the business is a means to having the financial resources to be ministry.
One of the major office activities at this time of the year is to do annual performance reviews for the nine Augsburg Fortress employees who report directly to me. While it is time consuming, it’s also a joy to spend time with these people doing this review of their many accomplishments over the past year.
We are blessed to be enjoying them….within the Augsburg Fortress staff; with authors, musicians, and designers; with pastors, music ministers and Christian ed directors; with development leaders for pan-Lutheran social service agencies; with seminary and college leaders, within the ELCA and now, the AME-Zion church.
