  Glossary: August the Strong
August the Strong's lavish court and grand architectural projects helped Dresden rise to both political and artistic prominence, and his unwavering patronage of the arts helped the city become a European center of the Baroque.
Moreover, it was August the Strong's passion for porcelain that made Saxony the birthplace of European porcelain.
The former Royal Porcelain Collection of Dresden was established around 1715 by August the Strong, and is considered to be the most comprehensive and most important collection of its kind in the Western world.

August II the Strong - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Augustus II the Strong (German: August II der Starke; Polish: August II Mocny) (12 May 1670 1 February 1733) was as Frederick Augustus I (German: Kurfürst Friedrich August) the Elector of Saxony 1694-1733, and later also King of Poland 1697-1706 and again 1709-1733.
Although he had failed to make the Polish throne hereditary in his house, his eldest son, Frederick Augustus II of Saxony, did succeed him to the Polish throne as Augustus III of Poland — although he had to be installed there by a Russian army in the War of the Polish Succession.
The number is extremely difficult to verify; August officially recognized only a tiny fraction of that number as his bastards (the mothers of these "chosen ones," with the possible exception of Fatima, were all aristocratic ladies) and he had only one legitimate child.

Jamaica Gleaner - Outlook Men Opinion - The strong black woman - Sunday | August 26, 2001
It is important to differentiate between the strong fl woman and the b....h of a fl woman.
The core difference is that the former is strong but a woman, the latter is strong but trying to be like a man. In addition, the latter often lacks self-confidence and self-esteem, trying to cover it up by appearing strong.
The real strong fl woman does not have to parade her strength; it is so obvious that to make a production of it would be redundant.

The climax of the Dresden courts cultural display was reached in 1719 to celebrate the marriage of the Crown Prince Friedrich Augustus to Maria Josepha, daughter of the Emperor Joseph I of Austria.
August had planned the marriage since 1711 when there was a chance that the archduchess, born in 1699, would become heir of the Habsburg lands (Erblande).
Augustus the Strong himself not only planned the festivities, but studied older festival books in order to ensure that they reflected both Hapsburg and Saxon traditions and so demonstrate the joining of a powerful political dynasty with a dynasty whose aspirations were to match the political power of Austria and France.
