Augustinerkirche (Chapel of St George), Vienna, Vienna; Wien
The Chapel of St George in the Augustinerkirche in Vienna was built in the 14th C. by Duke Otto the Merry as a meeting place for the knightly Order of St George.
Later it was converted into a mortuary chapel, and the victor of Kolin, the Imperial Count Daun, lies buried here, as does Maria Theresa's physician, Gerard van Swieten.

 Augustinerkirche (Church of the Augustinians) | Museum/Attraction Review | Vienna | Frommers.com
This 14th-century church was built within the Hofburg complex to serve as the parish church for the imperial court.
Maria Theresa married François of Lorraine here in 1736, and the Augustinerkirche was also the site of other royal weddings: Marie Antoinette to Louis XVI of France in 1770, Marie-Louise of Austria to Napoleon in 1810 (by proxy -- he didn't show up), and Franz Joseph to Elisabeth of Bavaria in 1854.
The most convenient and dramatic time to visit the church is on Sunday at 11am, when a high Mass is accompanied by a choir, soloists, and an orchestra.

Imperial Crypt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Within the coffin, the body usually has had the organs removed as a necessary part of the embalming process for its display before the funeral.
For about one-third of the bodies, the heart has been placed into a silver urn and sent elsewhere (usually the Herzgruft in the Augustinerkirche), and for some the intestines and other organs have been put into a copper urn and deposited in the Dukes Crypt in the catacombs of Vienna’s cathedral, the Stephansdom.
Over the centuries, constant humidity, variations in temperature, and the host of visitors had taken a great toll on the sarcophagi.

Written on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the dedication of his local church in Lichtental, it was performed there for the first time, conducted by the 17 year old composer.
A second performance took place a few days later - presumably thanks to the influence of Schubert's teacher, Antonio Salieri, who was the court Kapellmeister - in Vienna's Augustinerkirche (the court parish church).
The Mass in F was also performed on numerous further occasions, for which Schubert partly revised the score and the various parts; thus the source situation is quite complicated.

The body then was dressed in robes and laid in a coffin covered with flowers; the coffin was displayed in the Assumption Chapel in the Hofburg, where the public came to pay its respects.
