  Right Ho, Jeeves, P. G. Wodehouse - Section 22 of 26 - Book Club/Fiction - ArcaMax Publishing
Aunt Dahlia steadied herself against the sideboard, and spoke in a low, husky voice: "Faces?" "Yes, madam." "Through the skylight?" "Yes, madam." "You mean he's sitting on the roof?" "Yes, madam.
While I stood musing thus, Aunt Dahlia, in her practical way, was coming straight to the point: "What's all this?" Anatole did a sort of Swedish exercise, starting at the base of the spine, carrying on through the shoulder-blades and finishing up among the back hair.
It isn't often that Aunt Dahlia, normally as genial a bird as ever encouraged a gaggle of hounds to get their noses down to it, lets her angry passions rise, but when she does, strong men climb trees and pull them up after them.

Dahlia got a glimpse out of the corner of her eye, a pair of squad cars blocked the entrance, the occupant of one holding his service revolver level at her as his partner frisked her.
Dahlia nodded, flopping down on the bench that could also serve as a cot, closed her eyes and quietly started to cry, wondering once again what was she going to do.

Aunt Dahlia, Bertie Wooster's accomplice and chum in the PG Wodehouse books, is not childless, as we described her in the article below.
Conversely, the Classic Aunt may be portrayed as her own person, an independent woman, in a way that bounces off the more bonded and self-sacrificial image of the Mother.

My own real aunts were all mothers, producing many cousins, and forming part of an extended family but naturally closer to their own children than to their nieces and nephews.
However, I also fulfil several criteria of a Classic Aunt, and one of my nephews' favourite games is an explicit play on the image of nutty auntdom, in which I pretend to be the crotchety president of a Secret Aunts' Society while their own Secret Children's Society attempt to infiltrate it.

Aunt Dahlia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dahlia Travers, née Wooster, is a fictional character in the novels of P.G. Wodehouse.
She is best known as Bertie Wooster's bonhomous, red-faced Aunt Dahlia; she is much beloved by her nephew, in contrast with her sister, Bertie's Aunt Agatha.
Unlike Aunt Agatha, this aged relative seems to enjoy Bertie's company and occasionally shows him an aunt's love, even if she does call him a "young blot." Sometimes, Bertie suspects, Dahlia seems to value him more for his association with the exceptionally clever Jeeves than for his own qualities.

Similarly, Wodehouse's characters face a world in which there are no big problems to be solved-but there is a constant string of small problems to launch their comic adventures.
In The Code of the Woosters for instance, Bertie Wooster is flmailed by his Aunt Dahlia into stealing an antique cow creamer.
