By the end of this course you will be familiar with the basic characters used and how the language is structured.
Those who do extremely well should be able to read aurabesh as simply as they can read their native tongue.

Jedi Council Forums - Aurabesh numbers???
By the way, the signs of the Podracers were intended as numbers, too (at least the "Ask the Jedi Council" series at www.starwars.com says so).

I'd also keep the Aurabesh writing on the tractor beam controls that was added in the '04 edition, if for no other reason than internal consistency.
I was worried pre-viewing that it might not make any sense, but I don't think not being able to read "tractor beam" and "power" makes it any less obvious that Obi-wan is turning off the power to the tractor beam.
The aurabesh writing thing was done very well..

Whether pulling away from the screen or nosing the glass for details it's almost impossible to see the breakline between parts one and two.
The bleeding from dark red to light yellow in "think in aurabesh" seems almost like a cheat to me, but the stark contrast works to widen the eyelids.
Then the fractal-like breakdown of repeating images in "it's underneath" is a great approach to not knowing what came before.

Jedi Council Forums - About aurabesh...
Since permanently establishing Aurabesh as the style of writing in the universe of Star Wars, I am wondering does it follow the numerical system we know as Arabic numerals?
We see this in the targeting screens of the fighters and the Death Star in ANH.
So, does it have a numerical counterpart in the Aurabesh system or our Arabic system is the accepted number form in the Star Wars Universe?
