Although there exist grammars, vocabularies, and a translation of the Bible, there is no common standard for how to write the language.
There is poetry written in various Austro-Bavarian dialects, and many pop songs use the language as well, especially ones belonging to the Austropop wave of the 1970s and 1980s.
Although Austro-Bavarian as a spoken language is in daily use in its region, Standard German is preferred in the mass media.
Because in advance, a specialist jury of music and media experts was called upon to choose their favourites from the seventies, eighties and from 1990 to present day.

but i would put it in the "rock" folder, austropop is rock with simple melodies, political lyrics in austrian languages, you don't listen to it because it sounds good (the most of it souns under average) you listen to it because it got a message

I originally heard of Jewel during the winter of 1997/98 when domiciled in Austria as part of my year abroad, and "Foolish Games" was riding high in Casey Casem's chart rundown which used to be a regularly weekly listen if I wanted to get away from the Austropop selection that otherwise shattered my peace.
