		Instead of uncovering an auteur within a text it is a structure within the text that is uncovered by auteur analysis, he says "Fuller or Hawks or Hitchcock, the directors are quite separate from 'Fuller' or 'Hawks' or 'Hitchcock', the structures named after them".
