	AutoCAD DXF - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		AutoCAD DXF (Drawing Interchange Format, or Drawing Exchange Format) is a CAD data file format, developed by Autodesk as their solution for enabling data interoperability between AutoCAD and other programs.
		DXF was originally introduced in December 1982 as part of AutoCAD 1.0, and was intended to provide an exact representation of the data in the AutoCAD native file format, DWG (Drawing), for which Autodesk did (and does) not publish specifications.
		Other object types, including AutoCAD 2006's dynamic blocks, and all of the objects specific to the vertical-market versions of AutoCAD, are partially documented, but not at a sufficient level to allow other developers to support them.

		I have the digital cadastral database for this shire and want to use it along with soils and other layers to introduce GIS to the banana industry here.
		I can get it in Mapinfo format as an alternative but believe that even the mapinfo format is difficult to import as yet.
		I did get some advice on the format of r13 vectors : 0000,0000,ffffOn question 2 the AutoCAD DXF file format is fully documented in the Customisation Manual.
