   Even though AutoWeek readers tend to have higher than average incomes, analyst Wes Brown of consulting firm Nextrend feels the survey is a good snapshot as to what most Americans are buying.
   AutoWeek readers named the Corvette the best American car, the BMW 3 Series tops among vehicles from European automakers and the Honda Accord best among Asian vehicles.
   Of those responding to the AutoWeek survey, about 28 percent said value was the most important criteria when buying a new vehicle while almost 19 percent said performance was the top factor in their buying decision.

Problem is, when you can buy 2 or three cobalts for the same price, there should not be any materials of the same grade in the vehicle - and there are.
When I sat in a CTS-V in the Caddy showroom, I was struck by the abundance of monotone, cheap plastic on the console, kick panels and door panels, etc. Obviously the CTS-V and STS-V are great cars, but there still a lot of old GM permeating their interiors.
For example the cobalt's base engine blows away all of the competition, but all we hear about is the cobalts interior is not 100% there.

A 3.9L would be nicer, but man, I probably would have flipped my lid if they had given the new Malibu the 3.5, and these minivans a cheap, China-sourced 3.4 (like the Torrenox).
I think the press sees the CSV nomenclature as a joke, and the articles are less offensive.
Here is hoping it doesn't have any recalls, that is the last thing they need.
