		It is an interesting situation, because as one of the leaders of the Tropicália movement in the sixties, Veloso drew extensively from the influence of British and American rock.
		The album opens up on an ironic note, with Vincent Youmans’ “The Carioca.” Carioca is a nickname for citizens of Rio de Janeiro, which Caetano has called home for years.
		A better introduction would be one of his albums with his own songs on it.
