Autocar is a weekly British automobile magazine published by Haymarket Magazines Limited.
It was launched as The Autocar "in the interests of the mechanically propelled road carriage" on November 2 1895 when, it is believed, there were only six or seven cars in the United Kingdom.
In 1988, it absorbed its long-time rival The Motor magazine, founded on January 28, 1903, briefly calling itself Autocar and Motor afterwards.

White Motor Company was an American automobile and truck manufacturer, in existence from 1902 to 1981.
Diamond T and REO Motor Car Company became the Diamond REO division, which was discontinued in the 1960s.
White designed and (with other companies) produced the M3 Scout Car, the standard Unites States Army reconnaisance vehicle at the start of World War II, and the basis for the later M2 and M3 semi-tracked fighting and tractor vehicles.

According to company archives, this delivery wagon was probably the first strictly commercial car built in this country and was the forerunner of the thousands of Autocar trucks.
Autocar was no different, and among several of their successes was a run from Ardmore to Madison Square Garden in six hours and fifteen minutes, a record that stood for several years.
Many employees of the company still reside in the area, although the company was bought by White Trucks years ago and no longer bears its own name.

This engine was made by the Autocar Company of Ardmore Pennsylvania for the Smithsonian Institution in the early 1920s, and was accessioned on June 26, 1922.
In 1899, the company moved to Ardmore, Pennsylvania and changed its name to the Autocar Company.
Between 1900 and 1911, the company continued to make cars, including a 1901 model that was one of the first shaft-driven automobiles in the United States, that was donated to the Smithsonian at the same time as the truck engine in 1922.

Autocar has been told that the marriage of the two supercar makers ultimately failed because Ferrari’s components were too expensive to use in the cheaper Maseratis.

Although the name is old, Autocar will be the newest entry in the Class 8 low-cab-over-engine truck market and will be owner of the Xpeditor line, acquired in July from Volvo Trucks North America Inc. Xpeditor trucks primarily serve the refuse collection industry.

Between 1941 and 1943, the White Motor Car Company produced 8,423 units, and the Autocar Company made 2,992.
Two pilots of the T-16 of the half-track truck T16 were manufactured by Diamond T Motor Car Company with tests at Aberdeen Proving Ground on 1 July 1943.
Two units were built, one by Autocar and the other by White - at a (then) cost of $35,000 each.

On December 21, 1903, a certificate of Incorporation of the Bryn Mawr Fire Company was presented in the Court of Common Pleas for Montgomery County.
President Judge, Aaron S. Swartz ordered and decreed that this Charter was approved and that upon the recording of it, together with its endorsements and the order, in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds for Montgomery County, the subscribers and their associates would thenceforth be a Corporation.
Thus it was fairly easy to see how the Bryn Mawr Fire Company came to be nicknamed the "Millionaire Fire Company." Some of the other members not mentioned, although not as well off financially, were nevertheless all solid citizens and the backbone of the community.

The abbreviation AC was used for the first time and in November a new company was formed, Autocarriers Limited, taking over Autocar and Accessories but with Weller and Portwine still as Directors.
