Autoduel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Autoduel is a 1985 computer role-playing game (CRPG) published by Origin Systems for the Atari 400 and 800 (and other Atari 8-bits with OS "Transformer"), Commodore 64, Apple II series, Mac, and DOS.
It was released in 1987 for the Atari ST and in 1988 for the Amiga.
Autoduel is based on events in the future in the Northeast part of the U.S. In this future, cars are a primary means of protection and defense and the highways are dangerous stretches of land ruled by gangs and vigilantes with armed vehicles.

GURPS Autoduel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
GURPS Autoduel is the GURPS genre toolkit book which details the post-apocalyptic world of one of SJG's other popular games, Car Wars.
In this setting (by tradition, fifty years ahead of the current time), characters are involved in autoduelling: combat in armed and armored motor vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, or semis.
Autoduel has many scenarios available and the system allows for players to make their own.

 Autoduel
In Autoduel your chief characteristics are not strength, dexterity, and wisdom; instead you split beginning ability points among driving skill, marksmanship, and mechanical skills.
Because of the deadly bandits and underworld gangs who patrol the highways, drivers with guts and guns are needed to transport anything from valuable stamps to computer chips from one city to another.
Autoduel is more than a game—it's a complete system of play.

Robin Harbron's Classic Computers and Video Games: Car Battler Joe vs. Autoduel
Autoduel went for a semi-realistic representation graphics-wise (though the C64 can certainly look better than this), while CBJ is done in a Japanese Anime style.
Autoduel has very little in the way of sound effects and music (probably the Apple II influence) while CBJ has some great music.
Autoduel required a fair bit of strategy to win battles, due to limited ammunition, manual weapon selection, and very little armour on the car.

 Untitled Document
The aim of the campaign is to be the president of the most successful local autoduelling chapter by end of the autoduelling season of the Year 2054 and, therefore, becomes Binar's pet.
Success is measured by the amount of prestige points of each of the members (drivers and gunners) of the chapter, the amount of prestige points of the chapter and the amount of money over $20,000 the chapter has (each $1,000 being worth 1 prestige point).
Each local autoduel chapter has a grant of $20, 000.00 from MADA in the beginning of the campaign (April 2054).

ClassicGaming.com - Games of the Week: Autoduel
Autoduel, by Origin (the makers of Ultima), expanded on the basic concept of driving and shooting by immersing you in a post-apocalyptic world where "the right of way goes to the biggest guns." And while there is plenty of high-speed carnage, it is balanced by character building strategy.
Autoduel is an RPG based on the pen and paper game Car Wars.
