Automan was a U.S. science fiction, superhero, television series produced by Glen A. Larson.
Automan had a sidekick named "Cursor", a glowing, hexagon-shaped, mote of energy which could three-dimensionally "draw" and generate physical objects as they are needed.
Automan was inspired by the film Tron, which had come out a year earlier.

The show was basically about Walter Nebicher, who is a computer nerd at the L.A.P.D. and is shunned by most of his coworkers with the exception of the gorgeous Roxanne, played by Heather McNair.
In his spare time, Walter creates a hologram that is able to reorganize matter into a human-like form known simply as Automan.
When the morning hours came around and all of the toaster ovens and electric razors began to work, Automan's glimmer dimmed and had to go back into Walter's computer during most of the daylight hours to conserve energy.
