Auxiliary electric power supply for electric work vehicles - Patent 4500819
According to the invention, an auxiliary power source is provided on an electric vehicle by a pump motor; the pump motor and the traction motor are energized from the vehicle battery; an auxiliary brush is provided on the commutator of the pump motor at a fixed location between a pair of motor brushes.
The auxiliary electric load circuit 44 is electrically connected with the armature of the DC motor 42 which serves as the auxiliary power supply in a manner to be described subsequently.
Auxiliary brushes 96 and 98 are connected in parallel to the positive output terminal 106 of the auxiliary power supply whereas motor brushes 88 and 94 are connected in parallel to the negative output terminal 108 of the power supply.

 AUXILIARY POWER UNITS
The auxiliary power unit is a hydrazine-fueled, turbine- driven power unit that generates mechanical shaft power to drive a hydraulic pump that produces pressure for the orbiter's hydraulic system.
If the auxiliary power unit is taken to a high speed (by the APU select switch on panel R2), the primary valve is unpow ered and goes to the fully open position while the secondary valve controls the unit's speed.
At T minus six minutes, the pilot begins the power unit prestart sequence-confirming that the water spray boiler is activated-activates the auxiliary power unit controllers and depressurizes the main hydraulic pump.

 Idle Reduction: Auxiliary Power Units
Auxiliary power units can help truck drivers comply with local idling ordinances, reduce emissions and noise, and save on the cost of truck fuel and maintenance.
Auxiliary power units available today range in cost from $1,500 for direct-fired heaters (providing heat only) to $7,000 for auxiliary power units (combined cab heat/air conditioning, electric power, and heat to engine and fuel).
Auxiliary power units are a proven technology, and are available from several manufacturers.

Auxiliary power device of wheelchair - Patent 6481514
Accordingly, an auxiliary power device is proposed which is capable of being mounted on and removed from a habituated hand-operated wheelchair and of providing power assistance to the hand-operated wheelchair.
Power for actuators such as the driving motors 8, 21, 22 or the like is supplied by a battery 23 mounted on the auxiliary power device 3.
It should be noted that when the wheelchair 1 or the auxiliary power device is moved while the arms 4a, 4b are in the midst of sliding outward, sliding movement of the arms 4a, 4b is suspended since it is in a positional relationship in which the auxiliary power device 3 cannot be mounted.

Auxiliary power - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Auxiliary power is electric power that is provided by an alternate source and that serves as backup for the primary power source at the station main bus or prescribed sub-bus.
An offline unit provides electrical isolation between the primary power source and the critical technical load whereas an online unit does not.
A Class A power source is a primary power source, i.e., a source that assures an essentially continuous supply of power.

Auxiliary power unit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is a relatively small self-contained generator used in aircraft to start the main engines, usually with compressed air, and to provide electrical power while the aircraft is on the ground.
An APU was first used on the Pemberton-Billing P.B.31 Night Hawk Scout aircraft in 1916.
In most cases the APU is powered by a small gas turbine engine that provides compressed air from within or drives an air compressor (load compressor).

During normal operation, the bus-tie circuit is left open and the power for both switchboards is taken from the batteries, with the auxiliary generator often floating on the line.
Auxiliary motors are direct current motors designed to operate on a voltage ranging from 175 volts to 345 volts.

Auxiliary Power Units For Greenhouse Operations
In the winter, electrical power is needed to run heater fans and controls; in the summer, electricity is needed to operate ventilation fans and to keep double-layered, film-covered houses inflated.
The generator power capacity should be about three times that of the wattage of the largest motor that is to be started, or at least two kilowatts of generator capacity for each brake horsepower as shown on the nameplate of the electrical motors.
The use of PTO power reduces the amount of money invested in a system, and the tractor can be used for other greenhouse operations when not being used to drive the generator.

For a case where large power is required rapidly in such a case where power supply to the above-mentioned fixing device, it is possible to achieve rapid power supply by connecting many capacitor cells in series.
In fact, the number of the capacitor cells to be connected in series or such depends on each required power supply condition, and thus separate design is required and a design load may increase accordingly.
