I retired seven years ago, but when I watched the movie Seabiscuit, it made me feel even more honored to have won an award dedicated to such a great rider.
The fact that Woolf himself was a Canadian makes it even more special to me. I’ve won an Eclipse Award, the Avelino Gomez Award (for Canadian riders) and I’m in the Hall of Fame, and I’d have to rank the Woolf Award right with all of those.
Helmsmaster won the fifth race and The Dempsey Look took the sixth, both under Garrett Gomez.
