Cleverly, Avellaneda takes up the same cause and justifies his continuation of the story: “I only say that nobody need be startled that this second part comes from a different author, for there is nothing new about different persons pursuing the same story” (Avellaneda 4).
Avellaneda’s slandering of Cervantes in hopes of drawing the readership from the original Don Quijote and focusing it on his new book would seem like a plausible aim, but, if this was his intention, he failed in this purpose.
Cervantes treatment of Avellaneda’s book, by discrediting a continuation that contained an ideology opposite of his original text, was successful in that the false Quijote was only printed once and the time of its publication, and was not reprinted until the late 19th century.

Avellaneda in his conclusion challenged someone to pick up pen and follow with further tales of the "madman." He carefully did not lay him in his grave.

After more than 30 years of farming, Argentine family farmer Johnny Avellaneda was one of the first adopters — planting and experiencing the advantages of GMO crops when they became available in 1996.
And, Argentina was one of the countries that accepted this knowledge more rapidly," says Avellaneda, who today farms approximately 10,000 acres (4,000 hectares) of GMO corn, cotton and soybeans.
