With the launch of the new Avengers ongoing, Marvel answered the decades-long speculation of what it would be like to bring together an Avengers team packed with a group of the highest-profile and/or most powerful characters from across the different sections of the Marvel Universe.
Some of the companion pieces of the New Avengers, such as the Spider-man stories with Cap, Iron Man, and Logan as supporting characters really capture the personalities of the characters that seems to be missing here, but indicate the possibilites of this new team.
After the polarizing 'Avengers Disassembled' storyline, Marvel replaced the classic 'Avengers' title with this reshuffle of superheroes headed by Captain America and Iron Man. Marvel risks overexposure of Spider-Man and Wolverine by including them on the team.

PULP CULTURE for DEC. 9, 2004: 'New Avengers' writer Bendis sweeps away the old
In the "Avengers Disassembled" story running through "Avengers" issues 500 through 503, superstar comic-book writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist David Finch carve a path of destruction that leaves the 40-year-old Marvel Comics super team in a shambles.
In issue No. 502, he kills Hawkeye, another popular member of the team, and reveals that the villain behind it all is the Scarlet Witch, another longtime Avenger, who in a fit of madness takes out her personal frustrations on everyone around her.
For Bendis and Finch, it's on to "The New Avengers." This is the book Bendis wanted to write from the outset, but he had to get that pesky original "Avengers" series out of the way first.

John Phamlore - How to Make Avengers Disassembled Nonpolitical [SPOILERS]
I believe that Bendis will write the story so that the Avengers, even in the eyes of the readers, and probably in the eyes of themselves, will be considered to be guilty of terrible crimes and mistakes.
To me the question the book will ask after the Avengers are shown to be guilty is what should, if anything, be done as a reaction to seeing such terrible flaws in how the Avengers have been implemented.
The Avengers would be Bendis' experiment in introducing his version of a new political realism to Marvel that would not offend anyone other than some longterm readers who are wedded to a particular view towards their heroes.

This creative team's efforts on the story arc that brought the previous Avengers series to a close was a surprisingly contrived and disappointing story, so I approached the first issue of this new series with a little bit of trepidation.
Fortunately, the Brian Bendis of "Avengers Disassembled" is nowhere to be found this month.
Instead, the sort of exciting plotting and strong dialogue that is normally characteristic of his writing returns in an accessible script that incorporates a wide variety of major and obscure characters in a delightfully dark and often amusing story.

I fully believe that the Avengers are doing nothing that contradicts their behavior in previous issues- they may sound different, but they aren't acting different.
November sees the release of "New Avengers," but also sees the entire Avengers line relaunched with new creators (such as Ed Brubaker, who spoke with CBR about "Captain America") and new #1 issues, which some feel is calculated and adds to the "Crass commercialism" of the "Disassembled" storyline.
