Avensa (Aerovias Venezolanas Sociedad Anonima) is (A republic in northern South America on the Caribbean; achieved independence from Spain in 1811; rich in oil) Venezuela's national (A commercial enterprise that provides scheduled flights for passengers) airline.
Avensa's livery reflects their connection to (Click link for more info and facts about Pan Am) Pan Am, airline that helped set up Avensa in the (The decade from 1940 to 1949) 1940s; their livery is similar to that of Pan Am during the late (The decade from 1980 to 1989) 1980s and nowadays.
Avensa is currently serving only a domestic network of three cities, as they attempt to re-structure.

VIASA's first fatal accident occurred on March 16, 1969, in Maracaibo at Grano de Oro Airport where a DC-9-32 (also borrowed from Avensa) crashed on take off falling on nearby blocks of flats and killing all on board plus an almost equal number on the ground.
Viasa had agreements with Schabak and Gemini Jets to produce their die-cast airplane models, and with Hasegawa of Japan to produce their plastic plane models.
Avensa originally overtook all the existing routes that Viasa operated until it went bankrupt.

Equally, it began flights to Trinidad; and Barbados and signed a pool agreement with BOAC for the Caracas-Antigua-London route.
