		Aveyron lies on the southern border of the central plateau of France.
		Its chief rivers are the Lot in the north4 the Aveyron in the centre and the Tarn in the south, all tributaries of the Garonne.
		The salient feature of the region between the Tarn and the Aveyron is the plateau of the Sgala, bordered on the east by the heights of Lhvezou and Palanges and traversed from east to west by the deep valley of the Viaur, a tributary of the Aveyron.

		Aveyron was one of the original 83 départements created during the French Revolution on March 4, 1790.
		Two well know tourist attractions are the castle of Najac, a medieval ruin perched high on a hill, and the abbey of Loc-Dieu, located near Martiel in a region with many dolmens.

		Aveyron is a haven for all anglers, be they amateur beginners or confirmed champions.

		There seems to be no good reason why the Aveyron boy (or any other child) should have passed the end of the critical period at this age, but standard wisdom has always been that the peak age for learning verbal communication is at about age six, and drops off after that age.
