		The future of the Laghi di Avigliana depends on the environmental recovery and requalification strategies used by man: the establishment of the Park is at the same time a challenge and a hope.
		Protected by the ridges of Montecapretto and of the Pezzulano, with the ruins of the castle, the town of Avigliana has developed throughout the centuries as a "border" town, and today many medieval monuments can be admired along its suggestive roads.
		Probably the glacial events led to the formation of four lake basins, among which the peatbog of Trana and the current wetland of the Mareschi which were soon covered by the detritus coming down from the surrounding hills.

		Avigliana è un comune della provincia di Torino in Piemonte posto all'imbocco della val di Susa ad una ventina di km dal capoluogo in una conca naturale attorno ai laghi posta fra il monte Pirchiriano sul quale sorge la Sacra di San Michele e monte Cuneo.
		Nel 1187 Enrico VI cinge d'assedio Avigliana e la conquista provocando gravi danni sia al castello che alla città ma dopo breve tempo muoiono sia Federico Barbarossa padre di Enrico VI che Umberto III contendenti al trono.
		Nel 1659, dopo esser sempre stata considerata diretta dipendenza dei conti, Avigliana diventa un feudo assegnato a Carlo Emanuele Provana di Beinette, intanto la guerra contro i francesi continua con qualche breve tregua e il 28 maggio 1690 il generale Catinat bombarda il castello lasciando quanto è ancora visibile oggi.
