		AVRAM IANCU (1824-1872) Lawyer and military hero of the Romanians of Transylvania in 1848-1849.
		Iancu responded that he, too, was eager to secure the blessings of liberty for his people, but the events of the past year had so shaken his faith in the Hungarians' promises that he would have to wait and see if they would transform words into deeds.
		Iancu was among the many Romanian leaders who journeyed to Vienna in 1850 and 1851 to urge the emperor and his ministers to grant the Romanians autonomy as a right which they had earned through their sacrifices on behalf of the imperial cause.

		Avram Iancu (1824 -1872), Romanian democrate revolutionary, one of the leader of the Revolution from 1848-1849 from Transylvania.
		The Romanian and Hungarian revolutionaries disagreed on some issues and so Avram Iancu was alone with his paesants army to solve the social and national problems of the Romanians, but organising a very good defence in the mountains, he have managed to push back many attacks of the Hungarian army.
		This disagreement was used by the Habsburg authorities and Iancu was deceived by the emperor in the problem of the freedom of the paesants and in according some national liberties.

		Avram is a young Rumanian composer, and of similar interest, with 3 pieces: "Ekagrata" (for orchestra), "Signum Geminai" (for ensemble and tape) and "Zodiaque III" (for prepared piano, percussion and tape).
		Iancu claims that they switched to this method of production because the sound is better than on traditionally pressed CDs and they are using very high quality audio CDRs for reproduction.
		Avram pieces are: "Anamorphosis" (1998, a string quartet, quite knowledgeable of the inner workings of both Bartok and Lachenmann's sound-worlds) and "Second Axe" (1998, for orchestra and strings, performed by the Hyperion Symphony Orchestra, directed by Ana-Maria Avram).

		The history exhibition preserves his school certificates from the Royal Gymnasium of Zlatna, the royal protocol where his name was registered, his will, documents regarding the preparation and the development of the Transylvanian revolution of 1848 (weapons, flags, documents).
		In 1972, a century after the death of Avram Iancu, the museum was re-organized; a history and ethnography exhibition was opened in the right dependency.
		The museum is sheltered by the native house; it was built around 1880 by his parents: Alexandru and Maria Iancu.
