  The Union's Last War: The Russian-Swedish war of 1808-09
Adlercreutz mobilized his forces at the main position as the Russians began to deploy and the final battle was to be fought.
Adlercreutz personally followed his troops in the attack and initially it was a great success - the Russian lines were pressed back all the way to their initial positions at the outposts.
Axel von Fersen had been a true adventurer and had even tried to save the royal family of France during the revolution (the escape to Varennes was his work).

 Gunnar Wennerberg - Encyclopedia, History, Geography and Biography
In 1865, at the particular wish of the king, Charles XV, Wennerberg entered official life in the department of elementary education.
He succeeded Christian Eric Fahlcrantz in 1866 as one of the eighteen of the Swedish Academy, and in 1870 became Minister for education (ecklesiastikminister) in the government of Axel Gustaf Adlercreutz, upon the fall of which in 1875 he retired for a time into private life.
He was, however, made governor (landshövding) of Kronoberg County, and shortly afterwards was elected to represent it in the Riksdag.
