Prolific English drummer Aynsley Dunbar (born on January 10, 1946, in Liverpool, England) has worked with some of the top names in rock and roll, including John Mayall, Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, David Bowie, and Sammy Hagar.
In the mid 1970s, Dunbar joined Journey for their first four albums; then it was on to Jefferson Starship for three albums.
In 1985, Dunbar joined Whitesnake, and drummed on their 1987 breakthrough album.

I saw Alex "Erroneous" Dmochowski with Aynsley Dunbar's Retaliation several times in the late 60's and he regularly broke more than two strings at a gig.

The band was formed in 1987 when a smalltown girl named Aynsley Dunbar ran away from home and took the midnight town going anywhere.
The band was therefore named after the journey by train which brought Aynsley Dunbar and Steve Perry together.
The end result was the firing of Neal Schon(Josh Ramos) as manager, but singer Aynsley Dunbar had to have a cavity removed after the recording of Trial by Fire.

Rock journeyman Aynsley Dunbar has proven himself one of the finest drummers in the business for over twenty years, whether as a member of several bands or as a session musician.
Dunbar began his career on the British blues-rock scene, playing with Champion Jack Dupree and Eddie Boyd before becoming the drummer for John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in 1967; he was influenced by jazz and the Who's Keith Moon as well.
Dunbar first appeared with Zappa as a guitarist on Uncle Meat, but soon assumed drum chores in the Flo and Eddie version of the Mothers, appearing on such albums as Chunga's Revenge, Fillmore East: June 1971, and 200 Motels, and playing music that gave him a chance to show off his jazzier chops.

Not exactly unoriginal, but true: drum meister Aynsley Dunbar came from John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and started his own blues band after a short stint with the Jeff Beck Group (Windsor Blues Festival in '67 and singles sessions).
Aynsley then left for the U.S. and joined Mothers Of Invention.

In this album, he was accompanied by Neal Schon (later in Journey with Aynsley), Bruce Gary (drums, from Jack Bruce bands), Pete Sears (bass, keyboards, later in Jefferson Starship with Aynsley).

This record sees UFO bringing their hard rock antics back in a major (and surprisingly modern) way.
Consisting of vocalist Phil Mogg, bassist Pete Way, drummer Aynsley Dunbar, and guitarist extraordinaire Michael Schenker, Sharks is an album with razor-sharp riffs and a lethally accurate rhythm section.
The production on Sharks is clean and is very effective at separating the verses from the choruses, though the vocals are mixed a tad too high.

And the imagery of nature turning restlessly shifting its paces in “Warning” is both simply and powerfully stated, especially in the line “The sea began to shiver/And the wind began to moan” where the words correlate between a subjective cracking open of the world and that of sexual arousal of the most supine kind.
The original single itself lists Dunbar as the sole songwriter, but the credits were changed once again for the Sabbath box set and to make the whole thing even more poetically perfect, the lyrics to “Warning” appear nowhere in the box set’s accompanying book.

It wasn't my preferred way of working, but a photog's gotta do what a photog's gotta do, and I hate telling people to pose or do something that they wouldn't normally do.
I snapped off some of Frank showing-off the original artwork for "Weasels Ripped My Flesh" to a journo, and thought that under the circumstances, those and a few portraits and group shots, including Aynsley Dunbar, one of my all time fave bucket bashers, was about as good as I'd get.
By that time the musos had had enough, and everybody was drifting into the banqueting-hall for the lunch that the PR people had laid on to ensure their investments got good press.
