Lawhon's widow filed this action against the manufacturer, Ayres Corporation, and the company that regularly serviced and inspected the aircraft, Crowley's Ridge Aviation, Inc. Appellants' claim against Ayres was based on allegations of negligent design or manufacture, failure to test and warn, strict liability, and breach of warranty.
Ayres likewise filed a motion in limine asking the court to exclude evidence of other accidents involving aircraft manufactured by Ayres, of service publications issued by Ayres describing problems with certain aircraft, of subsequent remedial measures taken by Ayres after Mr.
Ayres contends that the trial court erred in admitting evidence of other accidents involving aircraft manufactured by Ayres; in admitting evidence of service publications by Ayres describing problems with Ayres's aircraft and directing work to be done to repair the problems; in admitting evidence of measures taken by Ayres subsequent to Mr.

Judging Close Corporations in the Age of Statutes, 70 Washington University Law Quarterly 365 (1992)
While Posner has not directly applied this theory to the common law of corporations, there is nothing in Posner's voluminous writings (that I have been able to find) that would indicate that corporate common law should be an exception to his general rule.
In passing the "modern" corporation statutes in the early years of this century, state legislatures did not have the needs of close corporations in mind.
The close corporation context also suggests that the Calabresian method not only may describe judicial behavior regarding desuetude, but also may comprehend aspects of statutory overbreadth when courts have a structural confidence that certain applications were unintended.

John M. Conley and William M. O'Barr, Crime And Custom In Corporate Society: A Cultural Perspective On Corporate ...   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
To say that the corporation has engaged in misconduct is to say that some of the people have misbehaved in ways that the law chooses to attribute to the corporate entity.
The purpose of the paper is to take an anthropological perspective on three widely publicized cases of alleged corporate misconduct: a study showing that car dealers discriminate on the basis of the race and gender of their customers, the Archer Daniels Midland saga, and the manipulation of incriminating documentary evidence by the tobacco companies.
That is, if we allege a corporate culture of discrimination, we are not making a statement about some robust, almost tangible force that drives individual behavior, but are merely observing a pattern in a large number of individual decisions which may have been made without reference to the corporate culture at all.

Two Bellingham, Washington corporations were sentenced June 25 after pleading guilty to tax fraud for using offshore entities to divert and misrepresent millions of dollars of income inappropriately deducted by the corporations as commission expenses on their tax returns for the years 1994 to 2001.
It is somewhat unusual for corporations to be criminally charged over the use of offshore schemes to skim or manipulate income to evade taxation, despite a belief that such practices are widespread.
They had instructed customers to establish a corporation sole in the state of Washington, where an obscure state law permitting the registration of such entities had been seized upon by tax protestors as a means of evading the payment of federal income tax.
