Aywaille is a 8.004 hectares city, the largest area among the 21 cities in the district of Liège.

Over the holiday weekend Mark Fitzgerald (San Diego, Calif.) posted a strong ride in the 37th Triptyque Ardennais, a 2.6 UCI race beginning in Aywaille concluding in the town of Saint- Hubert.
Over 150 international riders would toe the line for the three-day four stage event.
Fitzgerald started things off with a 48th place finish in the first stage, a 166 km jaunt from Aywaille to Harze.
