Azad will need to come up with a strong showing on all counts-- political skill in running what might be an unsteady coalition in time, man-management in handling his own party and associated MLAs, and cool determination in tackling corruption that is gnawing at Kashmir's vitals.

Samad Azad is survived by three sons, one daughter and a host of relatives, political colleagues, well-wishers and admirers to mourn his death.
She said Samad Azad was a rare courageous fighter of the 40s and 50s, any one of the architects of the language movement, formation of Awami League, autonomy of the then East Bengal, six-point movement and the Liberation War as an associate of Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Son of late Shariatullah, Abdus Samad Azad was born on January 15 in 1926 at Burakhali village of Jagannathpur Upazila of Sunamganj district.

The attack should have been on the system that prevailed in the regions that now comprise Pakistan ; instead, the establishment found that it suited its instincts and its desire for power and all that was needed was to exploit it for its own benefit, by pushing all others out.
Parliament and the political parties must be taken into confidence and made partners in the enterprise.
