Bruce Wayne met Jean Paul as Azrael during the events of the excellent O'Neil/Quesada/Palmiotti miniseries "Sword of Azrael" several years ago, and was impressed enough by him that he took Azrael on as a protege' of sorts.
Sergio Cariello's layouts are static and uninteresting, his characters are drawn in ridiculously exaggerated poses and seen from wildly swooping angles, hands and arms waving wildly or legs bent at impossible angles, and the facial expressions he draws are incredibly poorly done.
Azrael has learned from St. Dumas himself (yes, he sees flaming visions of the long-dead head of the Order) that the slimeball preacher who is pretending friendship with him is flying under false colors, so there's every possibility that that ridiculous alliance will go by the wayside shortly.

In the end, this is just another generic superhero comic book.  And there’s nothing wrong with that, even if there isn’t anything really right with that either.
The complaint about expository dialogue is noted, but comics used to make an effort to initiate new readers by catching them up to speed with the goings on in a specific issue and a title as a whole.
I don’t know how many times I have seen someone post that they saw that a series was already on issue 92 and state that they didn’t feel that they could catch on.

Granted, no comic book or magazine company really makes a lot of money off of the cover prices; advertising's where it's at, baby, but I always thought that the cover price had to contribute SOMETHING to the profit off a comic.
Although I'm celebrating the long-awaited death of the ongoing series Azrael: Agent of the Bat this month, I somehow feel that would be a strange suggestion for anyone to read.
Vampires and special military ops guys are nothing new in the comic world, though these two games may have enough back-story to make for interesting comics.

 The religion of Azrael (Jean Paul Valley), former Batman
Previously, donning the armor of Azrael triggered the transformation from the passive Jean Paul to the aggressive Azrael.
The Angel of the Bat storyline might have made an interesting way for the return of Azrael, (who went by Agent of the Bat for awhile I think), and even the fomer Supergirl Linda Danvers, who was once an angel herself.
Well, IIRC, the order of St. Dumas was a section of the Knights Templar, (which were deemed heretics for various interesting reasons) and he took the form of an avenging angel, and lots of things about that sect seemed away from the Catholic norm.

Azrael is still hanging out with Jerk Lilhy, he's still all confused and befuddled and letting himself be manipulated by anyone with a pulse, and Lilhy is thinking about rebuilding the Order of St. Dumas, offering Azrael a spot as her second-in-command.
And of course, Azrael helpfully notes that they _destroyed_ the Order, and Nightwing and Oracle note how messed up in the head Azrael still is, and so on.
Yeah, he might have been doing something, but apparently it all cancelled out between then and now, because he's EXACTLY where he was when I left him, except he's got a fl T-shirt instead of a white one, I suppose.

The Azrael figure is made from a Spiderwoman figure from the Toy Biz SpiderMan line.
And the final touch was the necklace which is the dog tag's from ReSaurus' Charlie figure from the Street Fighter line with one of the tags removed, cut to length and painted gold.
