From 1913 to 1917, and again from 1920 to 1923, Ambedkar studied in the West, and, when, at the age of 32, he finally returned to the country of his birth, it was as one of the most highly qualified men in public life.
While Ambedkar continued to participate in the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha, and was to do so until the end of his life, from 1952 onwards Ambedkar's energies were increasingly devoted to other concerns.
In 1908, when Ambedkar passed the matriculation examination for Bombay University, this event was such an uncommon achievement on the part of an Untouchable boy that it was celebrated with a public meeting.

She married Dr Ambedkar on April 15, 1948 in New Delhi and was a close witness to his contribution in framing the Indian Constitution and the event of embracing Buddhism.
