B6ZS - the free encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)
T-carrier line code in which bipolar violations are deliberately inserted if user data contain a string of 6 or more consecutive zeros.
B6ZS is used to ensure a sufficient number of transitions to maintain system synchronization when the user
B6ZS is used in the North American hierarchy at the T2 rate.

B6ZS   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)

Patent 4887083: Bipolar with eight-zeros substitution and bipolar with six-zeros substitution coding circuit
A circuit according to claim 1, further comprising a circuit receiving the positive and negative pulse coded modulation signals from the output circuit and generating a bipolar signal having a positive logical one level, a zero level and a negative logical one level.
The consecutive zero data DATA is started from a time t.sub.11, and at a time t.sub.16, a first B6ZS violation signal having a zero level corresponding to a first zero data of the consecutive zero data is output.
At a next clock time, a second B6ZS violation data consisting of the positive pulse coded modulation signal XPPCM having a low level and the negative pulse coded modulation signal XNPCM having a high level, thus indicating a logical "1" having a negative polarity, is output.

 Patent 4785466: Encoder/decoder circuit for B8ZS and B6ZS applications
Advantage is taken of the fact that there is a commonality in B8ZS and B6ZS code patterns in the last five bits of the codes, with the difference being the number of logic "zeros" before the first bit of coding.
A method in accordance with claim 15 wherein decoding said rate control input signal decodes B6ZS code when said signals indicative of two transmission rates are both logic one level, and deocdes B8ZS code when said signals indicative of two transmission rates are of different logic levels.
While the present invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment thereof, it is to be understood that additional embodiments, modifications and applications that will become apparent to those skilled in the art are included within the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth by the claims appended hereto.

Patent 4408325: Transmitting additional signals using violations of a redundant code used for transmitting digital ...
In such a signal, a sequence of six zeros is replaced by a sequence 0VB0VB, where V is a violation and B is a + or - bit.
For example, the bipolar sequence +000000 would be encoded in B6ZS encoding as +0+-0-+, which when encoded with 2AMI encoding results in the sequence 11011100100011, which contains both of the code combinations 0100 and 1011.
The particular choice of the predetermined code combination(s) predominantly determines the rate at which these will occur in the encoded digital signal, and hence determines the signalling speed which is available for transmission of the additional signal.

PHOENIX MICROSYSTEMS 5575 refurbished equipment at Test Equipment Connection   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)
The module provides two output levels to simulate the 6.312 Mbps signals found at both the terminal equipment and at the DSX-2 cross connect, as well as providing the capability to monitor the signal levels originating at both locations.
The module operates with the T2 serial, bipolar (return-to-zero) pulses that utilize the Bipolar with 6 Zero Substitution (B6ZS) line code.
In addition, the 5500-700 may be configured to provide AMI line code via switch selection on the module.

 Chapter 5
Now that we can write plus and minus code, we are ready to start substituting bits in for strings of zeros.
HDB3 is slightly more complicated than B6ZS, you have to count the number of marks since the beginning or since the last substitution was completed.
I don't know why this is isn't HDB4 when four zeros are substituted at a time.

 Technisys : 8 Channel T1/E1 Converter
The 8 Channel Converter combines 4 channels that are identical to those of the PN 701057 8 Channel Interface, but includes board jumpers to allow DATA inversion.
In addition, there are 4 channels that accept DATA and CLOCK input at RS422 levels and generate a bipolar AMI output, which can be encoded B6ZS, B8ZS or HDB3.
